I’m excited to share my recent musical performance with you! This includes a brand spanking new song and 2 originals I’ve written in the later part of 2018. All songs are by Sofia Wren and may not be performed by someone else without my permission.

I wrote the song “Feel My Feels” the day before jumping on stage. I decided to do something “crazy” which was to invite anyone who wanted to join me on stage to improve with me. It turned out great with Jen Parde on keys and vocal harmony, and Chuck the Mad Ox on beatbox. Hear it below.

I’ve been through a lot of things in my life and I’ve managed to keep high spirits. Everything I am today is not a product of the things that have happened–it is influenced by that, but mainly my choices have created who I am. I take pride in that. I used to be humble, but I really need to take some credit for who I have become. It’s very empowering that way. That’s what this next song “Credit” is about.

People say spirits walk the earth. I was raised secular but my mother passed away when I was three, so I’ve always wondered…A while ago I started to be open to the idea that her spirit was with me, but it really freaked me out. Eventually, it started to be more comfortable to me.

I feel like if my mother hadn’t passed, I wouldn’t have had the same interest in spirituality. I also wouldn’t have been so creative, because I use my creativity to process the feelings I have. I think that creative works like songs, books, etc., make us immortal. That combined with the idea of living beyond the physical body imply an “Everlasting Life.” That’s what this song, “Everlasting Life,” is about.

For January’s Full Moon, here is a clip from my upcoming book on the Tarot and a message to guide you to make faster progress. It’s based on the card I pulled, Six of Swords Reversed.

Take time this month and lunar cycle ahead to enter a space of inner reflection and self care. There is nothing more important than your inner journey right now. It is time to heal and release. You may do this with other people’s help but most of all you must create the space to be with yourself and pay attention to your inner world.

Perhaps you have been looking outward at things you want to change or create in your life and the answer is really on the inside. You may be trying to get somewhere, but this card advises a sort of trust in the natural pace of things. You are moving. You are traveling. However you may not see an external evidence of this at this time because it is important to look on the inside and make shifts there that may be invisible to you or others. However there is an opportunity in the next month or moon cycle to bring something to your consciousness or release it for your higher good.

Sometimes we look to others for validation in our experience. The most important contributor to your journey and experience is yourself. Are you in harmony with yourself? Or are you at odds?

Are you pulling yourself multiple directions? Are you fully aligned with what you are wanting to feel, create, or experience in your life or relationships? Often times we have different motivations and those things pull us in different ways. It’s time to try to let go and resettle so that your ship is moving in a single direction–otherwise you are just going to float or spin around.

It may be time to schedule alone time or a retreat so that you can cut out distractions and truly listen to the messages arising from inside of you. When you release, the situation will become obvious. Be self loving and forgiving. Everything is okay.

How you do one thing is how you do anything. See how the relationships and the dynamics are playing out in your life, and remember to accept what you get isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The most important part of any process is self realization and sometimes that comes from reflection or entering a conscious space. Sometimes being in a new relationship with your understanding of an experience is enough to create a radical transformation. Pursue the place of feeling love in your heart for life itself, for you in it, for your place, and what is before you. This heart centered place will help you to expand your self potential and the manifest your desired projects–or perhaps something even better than you could have imagined. Because surrender is an important part of any loving process.

Surrendering is entering an altered state and believing it is possible to exist without everything you used to cling to. To enter a new reality where the experience of expansion and space itself can be a form of existence even if you forget your Self.

And yet sometimes forgetting yourself in a relationship causes codependent or unhealthy behavior or enables others to behave badly around you or unknowingly cross your boundaries. Containers and boundaries are necessary to love. Love is like water, which needs containers to prevent spilling all of the energy. Boundaries are an inevitable point of tension in your month this December. There is no knowing how profound these individual negotiations can be, and may relate to your experience in other areas of your life, so seek behavior that acts in integrity with your soul. You may find yourself being drawn into deep or difficult conversations and this is ok, this is a form of energy work. Use your guidance and prayers to guide you to the most helpful language, self reflect or journal.

Symbolizing Victory, the 6 of wands is great news for anyone working on a creative project or manifesting a desire they are passionate about. This means you are blessed with a better environment for getting what you desire or aim for this month.

Sometimes fears, worries, insecurities can get in the way of receiving what you desire. That is–sometimes what you want is actually present but you just need the confidence to reach out and grab it. Fucking grab it! Or maybe you just need to admit what you want, where your passion or desire is stirring and let yourself really want that. It may differentiate you from other people–that’s a good thing. That’s you being you. That’s you being who you were born to be. That’s how you can be powerful. Let the desire happen and the ripples flow into the universe. Let yourself want it with deep fiery passion, I dare ya.

There is a yang, hot, red, fiery energy that you can tap into this month to create what you want. Power is something that not everyone is in the habit of wielding. Maybe you’ve seen others abusing their power. Maybe you feel constrained by gender norms, patriarchal limitations, scarce finances, beliefs about how much time you have or what’s possible. Maybe you don’t want to go there and be disappointed. Maybe you don’t want to be judged because of your skin color, gender, identity, or status. Maybe you’ve never achieved what you wanted before or it has been a long discouraging road. Wanting what you want can be VULNERABLE. The headgames we get into can be super dumb and annoying! That’s how you know something is off. But feel into the powerful, yang side of that and go big. Don’t play small. It’s time to shake that off and BELIEVE in yourself and the possibility of getting what you want.

The universe will find a way. Know that it’s ok to pursue what you want. It is ok for YOU to be the one to take action, use your voice, make a move, take a step towards it. If you work with others they will be mirroring possibilities back to you or you will find new people showing up who will be better able to help. Follow the energy that makes you feel good and powerful. If there is another situation that doesn’t–take a look at any limiting beliefs or emotions that have more to do with the past than the present. Are you really blocked? Or are you blocking yourself? Are you embracing your yang power? Or are you worried it will not be appreciated and that you will cause or receive harm from expressing your might? Are you ready to go big and actually stop compromising on what you really desire? Can you make connections with people who are right there and maybe just need to get a dose of that inspirational fire you’ve been cultivating behind the scenes. Get over whatever it is and take advantage of the energy for the month!!

Themes: Psychic Cords or Entanglements, Frustration. Lack of Fulfillment. Peace & Stillness Through Adversity. Teamwork. Feedback. Change or Stalling. Work. Goals and Adjustment. Time and Deadline Problems. New Found Clarity, Direction, Abundance, Teamwork, and Purpose.

This month or cycle is one that is sure to bring up some feelings for you. Your goal is to find opportunity amongst the challenge and see the gift of abundance that is there. Everything may not be running smoothly, but it will if you can accept responsibility for your part in the situation and detach from what is not yours to carry as well. Use your sheer manifestation power, your imagination and passion for what you really want to guide you forward into a better feeling situation. Be more open to support than you usually receive or ask for.

The fiery nature of the wands card and the reversed position suggests that you may feel frustrated or at odds with other people this month, especially in the area of passion, creativity and inspiration. You may feel jittery or angry at times. The components of your problem may not feel super easy to settle because they may have importance for you or provide you with abundance or creative possibilities. It’s not just a matter of cutting people, things or projects out totally, this is about refining the dance and interplay of things in your life. Deadlines might be strangling your writing or creativity right now–see what you can do to get a little space on that deadline, or accept that it’s gonna be hard and introduce or adjust something else in your life to support you more.

If you’ve been involved in passionate relationships or romances, those things may shift depending on different factors between people. Different business people, goals, events, clients, may also interrelate and create tensions or limitations. On the other side, you may find yourself pulling on your support system more as well. Just try to find a balance of giving and receiving and note anything that needs to be shifted. Cut cords often. It’s a great time to do something about personal or work problems eating up time or energy. Address them sooner rather than later because the problem may just get worse if you ignore it. Even if you are short on time and energy, try not to ignore problems and kick the can too far down the road.

On a macro or “bird’s eye” scale, things may have been moving quickly and it may be time to get some space to really think about what is important to you. Some parts of how you are relating to the situation, or how the structure of things is set up may need adjusting.

I’ve taken my time putting this message together. This month my message feels strikingly different than many that have come before. Maybe not–July’s issue centered around the Star seemed strikingly positive. Not everything in life is, so for some reason I find it easier to send out my intuitive message for the month when it seems to be a warning of some sort of problem. To be sending you words that assure you things are okay almost seems vapid or unrealistic. Superficial, maybe, or overly simplistic.

But what if things really are getting better? What if you can stop trying so hard to fix the things that aren’t working? What if some things are falling away to help you, to reveal newer better things?

So the good news is that after a lot of hustle bustle, something simpler is coming into place. It’s easy. It’s open. It’s safe.

This spiritual message of this month is based on the Tarot card 10 of Pentacles. This is channeled writing and an excerpt from my forthcoming book on the Tarot. Take a moment to be open to any positive shifts that may occur as you read this sacred writing and remember to breathe.

Take stock of everything good going on in your life. Make a list. Listen to your intuition. How can you find something to be thankful for in your current situation? You either have a situation of abundance and security, or one will soon be coming into your life. In order to make the most of this card, you truly have to focus on receiving it and allowing yourself to see that a change has occurred.

Change your mindset so that you are noticing and celebrating the periods of your life that feel good to you. Have patience for anything not working out because it will probably either fall away or be replaced sometime soon. Let go of unneeded expenditures of energy, if it’s not serving you, let it go. You either have more where that came from or it’s going to show up.

Honor that the universe loves and supports you. Find evidence for this positive way of looking at the world and challenge beliefs such as “The Universe is against me.” It’s not, you’re just not working with the Universe properly to receive. You may have to let go of beliefs that it is wrong to receive or fears about receiving too much. This may be because you feel responsible for other people: try to be less so. Or you may think bad things pair with good things like higher income and higher taxes. Be open to new solutions that are a win win. A change is happening and it creates a lot of ripple effects inside and out. Let go of what you don’t need.

This spiritual message of this month is based on the Tarot card 10 of Wands Reversed. Take a moment to be open to any positive shifts that may occur as you read this sacred writing and remember to breathe.

My first thought seeing the card for the month of August was a lot of overwhelm– so much to do, so many things to attend to, parties and friends to connect with. The sun is out now but fall is coming in the northern hemisphere, and changes are happening all around the world all the time. There is a sense of pressure, and movement that is jostling a large amount of energy inside of you.

These thoughts need to be released. There may be emotions underneath the surface which desperately want your attention. Find time to sort out your inner world. The “Reversed” position especially of pulling this card suggests that we need to look on the inside and release the built up energy in some way. Being the ten card represents the maximum amount of fire, there is clearly the most or way too much fiery activity going on this month.

The Fire element of the Wands tells us that there is a definitely creative potential this month, in fact I’d say that what we do now can be especially powerful. It’s a great time to plan for the fall and winter months ahead and start to think about where you will be next year. (I’ll be in Japan! Where will you be?) What will be different or the same? What will your pursue? What will you pursue seems to be an overwhelming question, however, as there are many different paths you can take in pursuing your energy AND you probably have to unload a fair bit of responsibility that you have shouldered as well, should you desire more freedom.

This card can feel very oppressive generally, even in its upright position, the 10 of Wands reminds me of an overly beleaguered woman attending to the demands of an entire office of people demanding coffee and chores she cannot complete because she keeps being interrupted. So imagine the reversed position to have a similar energy, indicating a tangle of knots occurring on the inside of a person. There is a cosmic element to this card and an interrelation with other people’s energies–the world around you is affecting the way you feel and awareness of that is key to making it work for you.

All you need is space to be alone and magic will happen. Do what you need to do to maintain healthy space, and look within–don’t just distract yourself with business and partying! Entertainment, TV, drinking, substances, or coffee can also put you on overdrive and exacerbate any imbalance this month so maintain a sense of some moderation. Pull back and observe how everything is going and remember to ask yourself what YOU need.

The 10 of Wands can indicate a feeling of stress from other people’s perceptions or how you perceive what you need to do to maintain connection with them. It’s possible some of this can be created in your own mind, or perhaps you really do need to set good boundaries and request a change through verbal communication.

Be Yourself and Let Go of Everything That is Not Yours to Carry! You’ll be glad you chose this because otherwise you’ll be dropping things from sheer inability to bear the weight of your load anymore and you probably will be down for a longer period than you would be otherwise, therefore wasting time in the end.

Something big has shifted with me. It has been an internal change where I have been connecting more deeply to what I call a “primal” or “vital” force.

This sense of empowerment and energy is deeply spiritual but also physical. It connects me to my greatest light and my efforts are building rapidly. What seemed farfetched has begun to feel possible and others are mirroring my thoughts, encouraging me or showing up to support. New clients have come into my life and I have so much to offer so it is a win win. I am learning all the time, channeling new insights and yet I finally feel a sense of mastery that I know I am ready to Teach.

This spiritual message of this month is based on the Tarot card The Star Reversed. Take a moment to be open to any positive shifts that may occur as you read this sacred writing and remember to breathe.

The answers are inside. This month is all about acknowledging the feelings, thoughts, and perceptions that begin and end with you.

If you’ve been looking outside of yourself for answers or validation, a sense of purpose or something to guide you on to keep you going, it is time to stop. Circumstances will arrange for you to begin to look inside more and more, and if you think you are already doing it, then the challenge is to become even more consistent.

There’s no other way to say this: stop making excuses based on your physical environment or the things you cannot control. Stop trying to fix things or people outside of yourself. This is a bad habit, it keeps you back and limits your potential. You are meant to lead the way YOURSELF, look at yourself and know who you are. Know what you want in life. Know that you have everything you need inside and that the situation outside of yourself is totally perfect.

How do you change your inner landscape so you are more in tune with your light? What habits do you need to add or drop? What helps you hear and listen to yourself, and see yourself shine in your greatest light? Don’t look for only logical answers, the truth inside of you moves in its own special way and logic is only going to take you so deep. Power struggles or drama with your people and environment may feel important to resolve before you can be happy but this is an illusion. This month is about breaking through from the illusion into an entirely different level that is guided not by outside laws like logic or reason or even universal laws or spiritual teachings others have provided–but finding the answers within. Yes you can cooperate with the world around you and connect in partnerships, but this must be led by your higher self, not your ego.

The answers might not be what you thought they were. They may not have a solid fixedness like 2 + 2 = 4. The answer may seem more mysterious or nebulous, or really be more about an energetic space you are learning to pinpoint and inhabit. This is great. This is what you want. It’s like noticing a star in the sky, except inside of your own inner universe. Can you keep guiding your awareness back to those peaks of light inside of you, listening to the guidance, and allowing the energy to soften all your rough edges?

Allow yourself to be your greatest healer. Work with spirit guides or sub-personalities. Listen to the way the universe is speaking back to you through others, but know that you created this. It is a balance of inside and out. Know that you have choices and you can always say no to what is offered, as well as ask for more. The answers you receive may be very gentle and quiet so try not to judge them. Don’t go too fast in life or you are going to miss the message, or possibly run over it and only look back later to see the wisdom that was inside. Don’t live life with regrets-listen to yourself.

Carve out time for silence and contemplation, and don’t let anything get in the way of that. Be wary of excuses for not listening yourself or acting like a victim. It’s time to get help, but only in ways that are empowering you to hear your own inner light.
