Why Create?

Why create? Is it to get famous? Make a million dollars? Change the world?

All of these are external reasons for creating. Personally, I think they time out.
When your focus is on something deeper like using it as a way to express self love, you will always be successful at your intention.

What I mean is, I’ve been doing this for a while now. I began writing in earnest over ten years ago, had a business almost that long, and singing for five years.

You can look around and see a lot of people who haven’t made it to the level of stardom and infinite impact. I’m not there yet. You can meet people with crazy talent who haven’t made any money at it. Why bother doing it then? Haven’t they “failed”? When push comes to shove why do I keep going when those big dreams aren’t achieved and honestly may never be achieved? (Btw I don’t need pats on the back over this, that is besides the point. I’m approaching this with a shrewd mind and there’s a way to do that in a highly healthy way, I should be applauded not told “there there I’m sure you’ll be famous,” really it’s okay. I feel glad that I don’t NEED that to feel proud of my work. Yeah, sure it could be cool, but it’s not the priority for me like society encourages.) The truth is that internal motivations are more powerful. Everyone tells you to dream big. Well, I’m saying, maybe you can do it another way.

Maybe the joy of expressing yourself is equally valuable. Maybe self love is valuable. It’s not all about saving the world or making a million, which will look great to other people, right? What about what’s deep inside of you?

Is your soul valuable?

I’m taking a stand for your right to shine, to express, to let your soul and who you really are pour out of you. Maybe no one will read you, hear you, or maybe just a few will. That doesn’t mean the process was not worth it.

In fact you are your most important audience. Make something beautiful and fulfilling for yourself. Love yourself. Breathe life into your world ❤️ You matter.
