Many years ago I struggled with something huge.
My voice would literally squeak when I tried to sing in front of people.
Instead of standing tall, I would shrink.
My body reacted with so much fear to so many opportunities
In real life, I felt like I would blow opportunities.
I didn’t speak up
My god. And my body was what was against me.
What I really wanted was to show up, and knock it out of the park with my singing.
Now you might not be a singer, but I think we all want to be seen through the things that we do in the real world.
Covid has made the world very strange and unpredictable in new ways, so I notice these old fears come up.
Everybody is stressed interacting with the general public, because it’s been a weird few years.

There are tools I use to chill–like EFT.
But something else also really helped me relax my body singing in public, speaking to other people, selling my skills, and being on camera.
Making videos really helped me feel more confident sharing my unique voice.
I’m lucky that being an entrepreneur pushed me to try to show up on camera,
just like I’m grateful that being a singer forced me on stage to be seen by hundreds of people–
Being SEEN
it is a really big deal.
Isn’t it terrifying?
At times I so wanted to be understood and seen by others but deep down when I tasted it, I realized it makes me want to pee my pants.
Fear of success.
Fear of too much attention.
Fear of being seen.
It’s all being afraid of my bigness.
And this happens to us creators a lot, especially as a sensitive woman.
But the jitters and the fear can go away.
It can be like a muscle, that with time and safety, it ceased to bother me as much.
I learned that in a small community, where I felt safe to share,
it was a private facebook group.
Finding a safe space, making videos
Sharing something I want to share–
whether it was a song, or some writing read out loud, or something I know about, a story…
It healed me.
I felt so accepted by reactions I have had from people out there.
I’ve made really good friends that way.
But how did I get here?
