The inner critic is something every writer, and creator has to deal with. It’s not necessarily bad–but here is a free video series to help you make faster progress (below).
The inner critic part of being a person but a creator CANNOT afford to get complacent about the relationship between themselves and their inner critic. Consumers can just consume, but creators enter a tango.
Sometimes it’s good– we forget the inner critic helps us face reality and make high quality work.
But the inner critic can also completely immobilize you so you get nothing done at all. I know because I’ve actually struggled with a persistent sense of paralysis that will come into my life when I am not watching.
But if I sit with this perfection paralysis and inability to make decisions, they melt from their frozen state and become something else: creative inspiration. You might be surprised to know that I created over 50 videos in June and posted them publicly, many receiving over 100 views in 24 hours– I definitely am getting things done and overcoming this paralysis and it’s a practice in my life.
Every inner critic is a partner just WAITING to feed you inspiration, love and good ideas. The problem is that inner critics can become unbalanced and start kicking you around, specifically at the level of your inner child.
Now the “inner child” may automatically bring up resistance for you because we don’t respect children. We grow out of being a child as fast as we can in American culture, or at least I’ve attempted to do so because of my upbringing. And it isn’t necessarily a great thing to completely move on from being childish.
Why? Because innovation demands that we INNOVATE, begin, start something new or a new line of thinking. Other people may find it childish. Or that new insight can flip everything else on it’s head so much so that what came before not seems childish, as a previous evolution of a much better work. It’s painful either way.
Free Video Series!
I made a series of videos to guide you through the process I use to make faster progress being creative as well as the face of my business, sharing my message to the people it can help.
Step 1. Value what the inner child can give you. This includes a sense of ease coming up with ideas and doing new things. It means you make faster progress at getting what you really want!! Big things yay.
First let me go into why you specifically need to Balance being Naive with being Real to make faster progress with your creativity, writing or creative business.
Step 2. Face the inner critic head on to bring the emotion down.
Give the inner child peace and know what to do next by healing your intuition more clearly.
So in this video I guide you in safety to face the inner critic head on– healing the wound of anything they might have to say that could keep us from writing and moving forward.
(This is basically a free healing session, the kind I often do with my 1-1 clients around their goals, like for creating money for business or writing for passion.)
3. Send the inner critic some love. This makes you feel more whole and saves you energy so you can make faster progress. Also it feels nice!
A live attendant from part 2 suggested that I talk about sending love to the Inner Critic, to learn to LOVE our inner critic.
To do this we may have to face real life critics in our life and bring the anger down with this. It isn’t easy to do yourself so I guided you on how to do this so you can make faster progress on your goals.
So I show you how to love the inner critic? Why? How?
