This week I got sick with a cold. It forced me to slow down. I chose to rewatch one of my favorite movies β Practical Magic.
It takes me back to a time when I could relate to the main characters.
β
I was bullied and called a βWitchβ in middle school. It taught me to keep my head down and donβt get noticed.
All my writing for ten years was done in secret!
β
But WHOOPS Plot twist.
β
When I decided I wanted to be my own boss,
β
and
β
pursue a creative, self-employed, healing occupation,
β
that meant
β
I had
to
market
myself.
β
TO WRITE
SHARE,
SHOW UP
β
Ahhhh!!!!! Scary.
β
Having to market my business forced me to confront all my inner demons around showing up, and being visibleβ
even though it scared me and made me feel like I was making a target of myself,
if I wanted a profitable business I had to market myself anyway!
β
Little did I know that marketing would become a healing process.

I no longer need to a label to describe what my spirituality is.
Iβm less of a witch, and more witchy.
β
I donβt follow a set of beliefs.
I aim to do no harm, to be of service and to stay connected to the land. I honor the indigenous people that were here before me.
β
I like candles and essential oil.
Herbs make me feel cozy.
I know rituals rework the subconscious mind.
β
If that makes me a witch, so be it!
β
Witches in fiction make me feel:
empowered as a woman,
sensual and in my body, +
at awe at the possibilities of what we can create.
β
If I have a religion it is the act of creation or creativity itself.

Over the past 10+ years since I decided to create my own business,
Iβve pressed publish on my writing, over and over.
Iβve led public presentations.
Iβm all over the internet!
β
And it used to be hard, but I did it.
Even when I used to sell tarot readings, chakra healings, past life clearingsβwitchy stuff.
Now Iβm focused on helping people write.
But whatever I sell, I still have to market!
β
Occasionally, I still get afraid to share things.
But what Iβve learned in 10 years of marketing is:
I am safe even when I am visible.
β
And I learned to embrace marketing. It doesnβt freak me out as much (most of the time) and I enjoy it.
β
My favorite way to market?
Writing emails!
β
In fact, many of these blogposts are based on emails I send out to my list.
I love writing by email!
Yes, me, the girl who 10 years ago was afraid to email her newsletter!
β
I love it now and I want to share the love with you.
If you want to write emails to your fans and potential clients,
I want to bring practical magic into your email newsletter.
β
βIn a few weeks Iβm teaching how to Have More Fun Writing Emails at an eventβ
and to be EXTRA awesome
I decided to make a new resource hub to go along with it.
β
Iβll be sharing my favorite resources to make writing emails easy and fun.
And I added some herbal witchy vibes
to the design!
